Elizabeth Samuels Drama School – Subscription FAQ

1. What is the subscription model?

Instead of paying per term, the subscription spreads the full year’s cost evenly across 12 months. This makes lessons more affordable and predictable.

2. When do payments start and end?

Payments can be set up at any time, for example even before classes begin in September. The subscription continues automatically each month while your child remains enrolled.

3. Can I sign up mid-year?

Yes. Your subscription will start on the 1st of each month and continue as a rolling membership while your child remains enrolled.

If your child joins part way through a month, a one-off covering payment may be applied for any lessons already attended before the first monthly instalment begins.

3a. What is a covering payment?

A covering payment is a one-off charge for lessons that have already taken place before the subscription start date. This ensures you are only paying for the classes your child has actually attended before moving onto the standard monthly subscription.

4. How does the subscription link to my child?

When you register, the payment is linked to your child’s name in our system. This secures their place in the class.

5. Can I choose my preferred class day and time?

Yes. When registering, you can indicate your preferred day and time. If the class is full, you can join the waiting list and we’ll contact you if a space becomes available.

6. What happens if my child misses a class?

Subscription fees cover the full year’s programme. Missed lessons are not refundable or credited.

7. Can I cancel the subscription?

Yes, but a 4-week written notice is required. Notice must be emailed to info@elizabethsamuelsdrama.com.

Payments due during the notice period remain payable in full. Any outstanding fees must be settled before cancellation is finalised.

8. Is the monthly fee based on the number of lessons in a month?

No. The monthly fee simply divides the total annual cost into 12 equal payments, regardless of how many lessons take place in any particular month.

9. Why am I paying in August when there aren’t any classes?

Our subscription isn’t linked to individual months or school holidays.

Instead, we calculate the total cost of the full academic year’s programme and spread this evenly across 12 monthly payments.

Although there are no regular classes during August, your August payment forms part of your annual subscription in exactly the same way as every other monthly payment. This approach keeps monthly payments lower than if parents only paid during term time.

10. How do payments work during school holidays?

Your monthly payment stays the same during half terms and other school holidays because the subscription covers the full academic year’s programme rather than paying for individual lessons.

Holiday workshops, such as Easter or summer courses, are booked and paid for separately and are not included within the subscription.

11. What if my first payment is taken before lessons start?

Your first payment secures your child’s place in the class.

Our subscriptions spread the full annual cost across monthly instalments, so it’s normal for your subscription to begin before the first lesson takes place, particularly for September starters.

12. Why are different classes different prices?

The number of lessons varies slightly depending on the day of the week and the school calendar. For example, Monday classes are affected by Bank Holidays whereas Tuesday classes are not.

Each subscription is calculated using the total number of lessons for that class across the academic year, ensuring families only pay for the lessons their child will receive.

13. How do I make changes to my subscription?

Any changes, such as updating your child’s details or class preference, can be made by contacting us directly at info@elizabethsamuelsdrama.com.
