LAMDA at Waldegrave School

LAMDA is a world-renowned drama school that has helped learners worldwide become confident speakers since the 1880s. As the leader in graded examinations, LAMDA sets the standard for speech, communication and drama across the globe.

At Waldegrave, our LAMDA lessons are designed with secondary school students in mind. Whether students are keen performers or simply want to boost their confidence, LAMDA offers something for everyone. Lessons are a fun and supportive way to develop valuable skills like public speaking, self-expression and communication — all of which are useful both in school and beyond.

Across the year, students will also take part in two LAMDA showcases, where they’ll perform selected scenes and monologues for an invited audience of parents, friends and family. These events are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate their progress and build performance confidence. LAMDA exams take place in July 2026. All examinations are optional and can be discussed with our LAMDA teachers.

If the class is fully booked, please join the waiting list as we may be able to offer additional classes at the same time based on demand. Booking a trial secures your child’s place, and if you choose to continue afterwards, the place is automatically yours.

At Elizabeth Samuels, we believe LAMDA coaching is invaluable for helping young people develop skills they can carry into higher education and their future careers.

This class is not just for those interested in acting - it’s ideal for any student looking to improve their diction, public speaking and overall self-confidence in a creative and encouraging setting.

Classes take place at Waldegrave both during the school day and after school. The monthly fee is the same each month and simply spreads the yearly cost across 12 months – no need to rebook each term.
