LAMDA & Communication at Waldegrave School
At Elizabeth Samuels Drama School, we offer specialist after-school programmes designed to help secondary school students grow in confidence, develop outstanding communication skills and express themselves creatively in a supportive environment.
Whether your child enjoys acting, wants to become a more confident speaker or is simply looking to develop valuable life skills, our classes provide an enjoyable and inspiring place to learn.
If the class is fully booked, please join the waiting list as we may be able to offer additional classes at the same time based on demand. Booking a trial secures your child’s place, and if you choose to continue afterwards, the place is automatically yours.
LAMDA Acting
LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) is a world-renowned drama school that has helped learners become confident speakers and performers since the 1880s. As the leading awarding body for speech, communication and drama, LAMDA qualifications are recognised internationally.
Our 90-minute LAMDA Acting classes combine acting technique, script work, character development and performance. Students work towards nationally recognised LAMDA examinations while developing confidence, creativity, communication and public speaking skills that benefit them both in school and beyond.
Throughout the year, students also take part in two LAMDA showcases, performing selected scenes and monologues for an invited audience of parents, friends and family. These performances are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate progress and build confidence on stage.
LAMDA examinations take place in July 2027. All examinations are optional and can be discussed with our LAMDA teachers.
Confidence & Communication Academy
New for September 2026, our Confidence & Communication Academy is designed for students who want to become confident speakers and communicators.
Through public speaking, debating, presentation skills, teamwork and communication challenges, students learn to express themselves clearly, think on their feet and communicate with confidence. These are valuable life skills that support school presentations, interviews, leadership opportunities and future careers.
Students also have the opportunity to work towards nationally recognised LAMDA Speaking in Public examinations.

Booking a 2-week trial secures your child’s place and, if you decide to continue afterwards, the place is automatically yours.
Classes take place at Waldegrave after school.
Our monthly subscription simply spreads the cost of the full academic year across 12 equal monthly payments, making budgeting easier with no need to rebook each term.
